George, of course, would use that miserable performance as fuel as he went on to win three American League batting crowns and the 1985 World Series, so yeah, we’re rather proud of him. 🏈 Similarly, in 2017, few gave much thought to the Kansas City Chiefs 10th overall pick in the NFL draft. 21, a bit slow, and a bench warmer behind starting quarterback Alex Smith, only a clairvoyant could have foreseen the pigskin magician named Patrick Mahomes who would win a Super Bowl in just his third season while changing the game forever with his unorthodox style. Yes, Kansas City is a city of WINNERS, often surprising “the big boys” because of our perceived small market position. The 2015 World Series Champion Royals, anyone? Or the 2022 Kansas Jayhawks winning their fourth NCAA Men’s Basketball title? SO IT’S IMPORTANT TO KNOW … Our beloved city is also home to one of, if not THE transportation and distribution hub in the entire country!
