Who is MFW?
-
MFW is a Third Party Logistics (3PL) Company based in Overland Park, KS. Learn more about our history and capabilities.
-
What is a 3PL?
-
3PL stands for Third Party Logistics. 3PLs are intermediaries between shippers and trucking companies, and do not own any trucks themselves.
-
Do you own your own trucks?
-
MFW is not an asset-based company and does not own any trucks. Our assets are our people, knowledge, and network. We leverage assets throughout the country, from National Carriers down to smaller regional partners, making us not dependent on any groups of carriers.
-
Do you offer flexible credit terms?
-
We offer terms up to 30 days if we find evidence that you are likely to pay your bills timely.
-
Can I book my shipments online? Can I track and trace?
-
Yes, you may ship your LTL shipments online and track and trace. You may submit truckload and intermodal quotes online through our customer portal.
-
Can I book my parcel shipments with you?
-
No, unfortunately we cannot execute on parcel shipments. Parcel carriers work directly with the shipper only. We CAN help you audit your parcel bills and analyze your spend to ensure you receive the best discount possible.
-
What is the difference between less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL)?
-
LTL shipments are generally 6 pallets of freight or less and do not take up an entire truck. LTL shipments are less expensive than TL shipments because the customer splits the cost of the truck with other shippers. Because of this, the driver will make many stops and transit times can be slower. Truckload shipments take up the entire truck, and the driver will go directly to the destination.
-
Do you have a Customer Support team?
-
Yes, MFW has a highly qualified and experienced customer support team that is available to our customers almost always.
-
Do you have a Claims and Disputes Department?
-
Yes, within our Customer Service group we have claims experts that will work/negotiate with the carriers on your behalf.
-
What if I don't know my freight class?
-
No worries! An experienced MFW team member will assist you in determining the proper freight class and NMFC number to use.
-
How do you vet your carrier partners?
-
Our compliance team actively monitors publicly available safety records and subscribes to various databases to ensure we are only partnering with top, high-quality carriers. In addition, we require our over-the-road carriers to have $1M of Automotive Liability Insurance, $1M of General Liability Insurance, and $100k of Cargo Insurance.
