HOW “TEAM-SHARING” FRESH IDEAS = A MORE EFFECTIVE BROKER FOR YOU It’s a typical Thursday morning for Sarah. 🌞 A logistics coordinator for a West coast manufacturing company, she’s faced with a unique drayage move. 🤔 Somewhat dreading the challenge, she’s uncertain of her options. Enter her trusted partners. Depending on her needs, Sarah splits her 3rd party broker business between three firms. She decided to call all three to ensure multiple options. 🚚 The first company wasn’t much help, offering up a few basic ideas that Sarah had already considered. 🚚 The second organization said they’d return her call later that day. Ugh. 🚚 Firm number three had just finished a huddle where team members share fresh ideas, perspectives, and opinions based on their recent and collective customer experiences. So, when Sarah rang her Account Executive, the response was, “Have I got a solution for you. First things first, though. Let us determine a more cost-effective type of equipment for your move – one more conducive for this commodity – then I’ll get back to you within a half hour to discuss.” Happy to say the least 😁, Sarah heard back in just 20 minutes, and – lo and behold – not only was it the right solution, it got the job done beyond her expectations. Her customer was thrilled! 🤺 Often, freight brokers cultivate and encourage a highly competitive culture among their salespeople, and this causes “idea hoarding,” the antithesis of team-sharing. At #mfw, one of our three CORE BEHAVIORS is, “We’re in this together.” And yes, we live it every day. In fact, our leadership demands it of us. We’re judged on it. Why? Because we’re not only and proudly “Beyond the Quote,” serving our customers in unique and effective ways, we also work hard to find people who care more about customers than commissions. Would you like to take a guess as to who broker number three is in the aforementioned example? 🥳 |
