MyFreightWorld Carrier Management – Sales Manager Job Description

 

Summary:

We are looking for a talented, driven Sales Manager who is highly experienced in the transportation industry (must be a 3PL), who can motivate and lead a successful sales team, as well as be a key player in our day-to-day sales processes. This individual needs to be a leader, hardworking, reliable, and most importantly a team player who strives to grow and support our Sales Department.

 

Company Info: Our expertise in the transportation industry dates back more than 20 years in Less than Truckload and all modes of Truckload services. We provide logistics solutions for various customers, ranging from large national companies to smaller independent businesses.

 

Duties:

  • Drive brokerage revenue through coaching and developing of new and existing team members
  • Interview, hire, onboard and train entry-level account executives
  • Assist account execs with brokerage strategies to ensure production targets are met
  • Build effective relationships across the organization
  • Ensure employees maintain the highest level of integrity
  • Occasional travel to meet customers
  • Monitor sales reports, act as needed and communicate market trends and market conditions to senior leadership
  • Assist in resolving escalated issues
  • Maintain and develop new strategies to grow accounts

Experience:

  • 2+ years of sales management experience, preferably leading a team of 10+
  • 3+ years of experience succeeding in brokerage Sales
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, lead and motivate others
  • Ability to be on call if needed to support team and customers 24/7/365
  • Capable of providing strong professional references – customer, superior, peer and direct-report
